Personality ::
Nani's parents waited to name their son so that the name would reflect his personality. This is why he is named Honani, or 'badger', as the name actually means. His personality, even when very young, was similar to the European badger so his parents decided that this was going to be the name for him. He was very social with the other young Kia around him, often being playful and friendly where others were trying to work out their place among the other Kia cubs. Hierarchy starts young after all, but he allowed himself to be placed lower down. He took a very passive role, not wanting to fight over something so unimportant. He had never felt the need to prove himself to others, and so he didn't try to do so. Or at least not until he became a child. As he grew up, his image became more important to him, possibly due to the new feathers he had to show off. These were a gift from his father, his role model, and he very proudly wore them. After his second birthday, when he received his feathers, Honani became known amongst the other young Kiamara as quite the prankster, but he never meant any harm and would usually stop before he could take it too far and upset others. It's always in good humour on his end, but sometimes his judgement of how others would take it is a little off, which is when he gets into trouble. In these cases though, he does not argue with his punishment, he'll accept it, because he is well aware that it was his fault that they became upset. There is no use in denying it, or trying to pass the blame off on others. He does not wish to sink that low. With a more humorous view on life, as this joker, one would expect his focus to slip, but this is not the case. He is surprisingly focused when it comes to what he wants out of life. Sure, he may not have ambitions like other Kia children of becoming the leader of a pack, or becoming some great hero... Instead his determination stems in a completely different direction. He simply wishes to live as he chooses. This very achievable goal inspires him to keep going, and day by day he just continues as he is, openly happy with his life. May not be glamorous, but it doesn't need to be in order for him to be happy. Though he may prank others, he is quite a peaceful Kiamara. When he isn't with the other Kia children, he will be off on his own, just sitting quietly and letting the breeze blow through his fur, and the beauty of nature continue around him. This subdued young Kiamara isn't always so passive though. He can get quite vicious if the situation calls for it, as any cornered animal can be, but he is generally quite friendly, even among those he doesn't know. However just because he is friendly to strangers doesn't mean he isn't wary, as he will not trust them as he does his friends. Trust has to be earned, although unlike some, he doesn't deliberately make that hard. He has the capability of being stubborn, but sees no point in it. After all, making friends is a fun activity and having good friends can lead to so many good memories. In addition, he believes in second chances. However if you press your luck after that, you're done. He is a good, fun loving guy, but he doesn't like to be used. There is only so much that can be forgiven.

History ::
Honani's parents waited a little while after he was born to name him, so that the young Kiamara would reveal his personality before being given something that would stick with him his entire life. This gave him a little bit of a late start, but he made up for it in pure character. Although this faded as he aged, Nani's father was a very important aspect of his young life. He would spend a lot of time with his son, teaching him about the world, the way they lived and of course talking with him about the future. Nani would of course learn more about himself as he grew older, but his parents were very supportive of him, and helped him in any way that they could. Though unlike most parents, they never pressured him to be a certain way. They were proud of him whatever he decided to do, as long as the decision was his own. When Honani reached two years old, his father gave him his feathers, and the young Kia was proud to wear them. He became much less dependent on them from this point on, though didn't like to be on his own, so quickly made some friends to tackle that problem. Loki quickly became his closest friend, and Nani has stayed close to him ever since. The other Kiamara likes to take charge, while Nani likes to sit back, so it's a perfect combination.
